October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I am really excited to present Shipwreck Bead’s first ever Bead Your Bra for Breast Cancer Challenge!! We are proud to be teaming up with Bling My Bra to be able to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
Bling My Bra was founded in 2009 as an online auction site to raise money for breast cancer education and research. Their first year, they were able to raise $3,000 for the Susan G. Komen foundation. Last year they doubled their 2009 total with $6,000 raised for the cause. This year, they hope to raise $10,000 and we want to do our part to help them with their goal.
This challenge is simple. We want YOU to bead a bra. Incorporate 1 of the 3 types of items listed below into your design. Then we ask that you donate your finished creation to Bling My Bra for them to auction off on their eBay site to help raise money for this effort. Please follow the instructions for donation on Bling My Bra’s page.

This challenge is open for the entire month of October. Share your submission on our Facebook page or, if you have a blog, link it up in the comments section. We will be featuring participants as the month progresses so we look forward to the creativity you can bring to the table.
I want to create and donate a bra to “bling my bra” however on their website it says the deadline to send bras is September 25th. And here it says the entire month of October I don’t want to send the bra and it is too late. Could you confirm the dates for me.

@Karen Because of the challenge, Bling My Bra will be extending their deadline to accept bras. We will update the post when we hear back from them on a better deadline.
